Passing of Ross Major, respected Production and Costume Designer

Very sad news, one of our most talented and respected production and costume designers Ross Major passed away Sunday 12th June. Ross was in the vanguard of the Australia’s feature film new wave of the late 1970s and 80s with his work on “Dawn”, “Far East”, “Heatwave”, “BMX Bandits”, “Burke and Wills” and later “Quigley”, “Spider and Rose” and “McLeod’s Daughters”.

Ross inspired many emerging young designers with the bold use of colour and form in his sets and costumes. A great talent that will be sadly missed by our design and screen community.
