KRISTIAN FREDRIKSON SCHOLARSHIP 2026

 

The Kristian Fredrikson Scholarship for design in the performing arts provides $14,000 biennially to assist an Australian designer or maker for the performing arts to study overseas, to further their career. 

The Scholarship was established to create an on-going memorial to the career of the late Kristian Fredrikson by providing career development to designers and makers – craftspersons, technicians and specialists. The successful Applicant will be chosen by an Assessment Panel on the basis of a demonstrable history of outstanding achievements and commitment to their profession; originality, creativity, technical and interpretative skills and the viability of their study plan.

Criteria include:

  • a mid-career artist who has completed design, technical or making roles on five professional live stage productions or have demonstrated a proven record of professional activity over at least 3 years;
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency status in Australia.

Unique to the scholarship is that there is no age limit.

Applications open 1st October 2025 and close 1st December 2025.
The successful applicant will be announced April 2026.
